Our animals

Around 80 animals currently live on our farm. Many of our animals live in mixed groups. The budgies share their bird station with cockatiels, pigeons and guinea pigs. The chickens share their place with the peacock, rabbits, ducks and a goose. Our cats and dogs share the same living space. The horses live and sleep with the goats, sheep and cows among other beings. And the cows in turn share their bedchamber with the pig Sophie. And then there is our wild bee colony, which has found its place on our farm 20 years ago.

 

The great diversity of species requires a great deal of specialist knowledge and constant further training on our part.
It is a great challenge when a new animal has to be integrated into the existing animal group. This can go well from the start or can cause problems. It often takes a lot of patience. Problem animals that are very aggressive or over-anxious, for example, are also a special challenge. But mostly they calm down after a warm-up period. A regular daily schedule, massages and good persuasion work wonders for many. Soon traumatized animals can also relax and find their way back to their zest for life. Then there is nothing standing in the way of a happy happy ending at Gnadenhof Luna.
